Great Wall (Great Wall), also known as the Great Wall, is China's ancient military defense project, is a long Wall defensive structures, or form like Wall, defensive nature and similar Wall of defense construction.
The history of the construction of the Great Wall can be traced back to the western zhou dynasty, which occurred in the famous allusions of the capital, ho jing (now xi 'an, shaanxi). The Great Wall resources are mainly distributed in hebei, Beijing, tianjin, shanxi, shaanxi, gansu, Inner Mongolia, heilongjiang, jilin, liaoning, shandong, henan, qinghai, ningxia, xinjiang and other 15 provinces. Shaanxi province is the most resource-rich province in China. The length of the Great Wall is 1,838 kilometers. The total length of the Great Wall is 8851.8 km, according to the survey results of the national Great Wall resources of the cultural relics and surveying and mapping departments. The qin and han dynasties and the early Great Wall have more than 10,000 kilometers, with a total length of more than 21,000 kilometers.
On March 4, 1961, the Great Wall was announced by the state council as the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units. In December 1987, the Great Wall was listed as a world heritage site.
